The Kids Behind the Blog- March

I just came across Jessica’s entry for The Kids Behind the Blog a couple days ago and thought it was such a cute idea! I figured I was too late to take part in it for this month, but then I discovered I still had a couple days left to link up! Yay! It’s such a fun idea to get to the know the kids, who in my case at least, are pretty much the reasons for starting this blog. If it weren’t for wanting a space to showcase the things I’ve sewn them I wouldn’t have started it! :)

Miss V’s answers:
(She’s 2.5)

1.) What do you enjoy doing with Mommy and Daddy?
Want to play this.(Points to play food)

2.) What is one thing you’re really good at?
Good at making supper.(Still playing with the toy food).

3.) What is something Mommy and Daddy tell you all the time?
Mommy tells me to make supper.(Clearly asking the questions while she’s playing with her toy food/kitchen isn’t the best plan).

4.) What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be anything. (Note: She probably actually said ‘don’t want to be anything’, she has a tendency to drop syllables sometimes -like saying “got” instead of “forgot”, and she was being a little contrary and trying to avoid answering questions, lol).

5.) What do you think Mommy and Daddy do when you go to bed at night?
Play princess and Playmobil.

Omni Family Pattern Tour + GIVEAWAY

After getting our first snowfall last week, it got unseasonably warm, and the snow all melted. Yay for being able to get some outdoor pictures!

Make sure you read to the end to enter the giveaway!
Disclaimer: I received the pattern for free for this tour. This post contains affiliate links. Affiliate links are marked with an *. That means if you click the link and buy through it, I may receive a small commission at no extra charge to you. All opinions are my own of course.

The Omni Tempore pattern* is a unisex top/hoodie pattern that comes with a few different options. Short sleeve or long; hoodie or collar; banded sleeves and waist or regular hem.

Seeing as Miss V is outgrowing all her long sleeved tops I made her a long sleeved version, added the cuffs but did a hemmed waist, and did the collar option.

This was another upcycle project so using the my old tops’ original hem made the process even faster.

The main fabric and the cuffs are from a waffle knit thermal top from Old Navy, and the collar fabric is a knit from my stash. It’s actually sparkly. She looks like a regular elf in this outfit!

Thoughts on fit:
Miss V fell in between the 12m and 18m size and I should have gone with the suggestion in the pattern to size down if your child is in between sizes. I made the 18m size and it’s a bit roomy on her since the style is more of a boxy fit BUT the roominess makes it easier to layer. If I were making it to be worn alone (like a summer short sleeve tee) then I would size down for sure on the next one.

The Omni pattern is on sale until Saturday. You can pick up the bundle (includes child and adult sizing) pattern for 30% off, or purchase each size range individually for 20% off. No coupon code needed, but only on Sofilantjes.com*
